I would say my predictions for today were satisfyingly accurate. I hope you all enjoyed the warmer weather and blue skies today. I know I did, in fact I spent today fly fishing with my buddy Ryan! I saw some pretty cool weather related stuff as well, which I knew you all would like to see so I took pictures.
I took this picture on the way back from fishing earlier this evening. It is another great example of a change in wind direction. In this case a shift from SE to NW in the upper atmosphere.
It may be difficult to see in this photo but the first photo also shows another important component in out current weather system. If you were studying the first photo carefully you probably noticed how the clouds were rising.
This is due to a cold front associated with the continental polar air mass sinking beneath the warmer air, thus causing the clouds to rise. It is hard to make out, but in the second photo you may be able to observe the rising clouds turning into cirrus clouds the higher they rise. This could mean some rain early tomorrow morning, say around 2am. Otherwise expect scattered cloud cover tomorrow and temperatures in the mid 60's (Fahrenheit). Now the pictures you all really wanted to see...
