Weather Conditions for Thursday February 2nd, 2012 "Groundhog Day"

Phil the groundhog saw his shadow today folks, so don't put away the winter gear quite yet because we're in for another six weeks of winter. Well since we live in Wisconsin, might as well make eight to be safe. As for today we were under a fog advisory this morning do to evaporation from snow melt. There has been a think cloud cover all day and will most likely continue into tomorrow. It is currently 36 degrees Fahrenheit, expect temperatures to drop to around 25 degrees Fahrenheit tonight.

Looking at the surface map you will notice that the isobars, "lines on the map are very far apart, this means there is a low pressure gradient. This low pressure gradient tells us we are experiencing very mild winds, in fact almost no wind in today's case. I anticipate that we will wake up to mild winds and a slightly warmer high for the day tomorrow. Until tomorrow, "Happy Groundhog Day!"
